Born in Toronto, raised in Montreal; I have been in and around Vancouver since I attended UBC nearly 35 years ago. After a very successful few years in publishing and sports sponsorship, we started to raise a family and I quickly got involved in minor sports as a coach and an executive. As a one-time goaltender in Montreal, I gravitated to towards hockey, where I eventually wound up as President of the Vancouver Thunderbird Minor Hockey Association in Vancouver, and I was honoured to be a member of the Hockey BC Steering Committee that created the BC Major Midget League.
My oldest son worked very hard at the game and earned the right to play Junior ‘A’ for four years in the BCHL and the AJHL; a strong prospect at one time. I was able to leverage my hockey experience into helping run the hockey operations for the CBC reality show – Bell Making the Cut – where I was tasked with building a staff of top professional hockey managers, coaches, scouts and to bring the most realistic and professional look behind-the-scenes in pro hockey, to the viewer.
I was extremely to proud and thrilled to be asked to join NHL Central Scouting following the completion of this show, and I scouted for NHL Central Scouting for ten years. 1I was mentored by some of hockey’s greatest scouting legends, including EJ McGuire, Joe McDonnell, Chris Edwards, BJ McDonald, and Jack Birch. I spent some time following the NHL with International Scouting Services (ISS), and I have been the compiling the CJHL Top 20 Weekly Rankings for the past six years. I am thrilled to join CKM Sports Management and to use my skills and experience as a scout to help players reach the next level in their hockey careers.
