Shaq Merasty has signed with the Witchita Thunder for the 2017-18 season!

Merasty is no stranger to success in the game of hockey, already having compiled a resume which includes an appearance for Team Manitoba at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships, and two Turnbull Cups, along with an ANAVET Cup, with the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

Merasty began his first collegiate career with Adrian College, and had a tremendous campaign. His 22 goals were second in the nation, and earned him second team All-American honours, along with being named rookie of the year.

Merasty decided to transfer to the University of Manitoba and finished his final year there with a total of 21 points (8g, 13a).

We are excited to see him flourish in a pro environment!
